General Overview
Activity Itinerary
1. Pickup and Transportation
Meeting point: Your hotel or residence in Playa del Carmen.
Location: Your hotel or residence in Playa del Carmen.
Destination: Casa Cenote.
2. Dive Preparation
Upon arrival at Casa Cenote, you’ll receive a detailed safety briefing, full gear check, and specific instructions for both dives. Special emphasis is placed on buoyancy control to ensure a safe, respectful experience in the fragile natural and cavern environment.
3. First Dive: Casa Cenote
Maximum Depth: 9 meters (30 ft)
Casa Cenote diving offers a relaxing, open-water experience surrounded by lush mangroves. During the dive, you’ll explore crystal-clear channels directly connected to the Caribbean Sea, allowing marine fish to gather in the cenote. This mixed fresh-and-saltwater ecosystem teems with life—small fish, crabs, eels, and even birds at the surface. It’s the perfect dive to connect with nature in its purest form.
4. break and Snacks
After the first dive, there’s a break to recharge. We provide water, fruit, snacks, and sandwiches. If you have specific dietary requirements, let us know in advance so we can customize your refreshments.
5. Transfer and Second Dive: Cenote Dreamgate
After the break, we will transfer to Cenote Dreamgate—located in the Rancho Lagunero jungle—for an advanced cavern dive. Upon arrival, you’ll choose between one of two routes: upstream (against the current) or downstream (with the current).
Maximum depth: 8 meters (26 feet)
The upstream route is famous for its incredible concentration of limestone formations—stalactites, stalagmites, and columns decorating every corner. It’s a visually stunning dive and considered one of the system’s most spectacular. The downstream route, though less dense, offers an equally fascinating experience through darker, narrower passages, creating an immersive atmosphere that challenges your navigation and technique.
This dive is reserved for Open Water–certified divers with excellent buoyancy control, prior cenote experience, and refined skills. Dreamgate is a demanding, fragile site—ideal for those seeking a high-level dive.
6. Return to Your Hotel or Residence
After both dives, we will return you to your hotel or residence in Playa del Carmen, concluding a day of exploration between two fascinating worlds: the lush mangrove life and the silent majesty of cavern diving.
