Cenote Zapote Diving & Kin Ha – An underground adventure of depth and light in the Mayan jungle
Our Cenote Zapote Diving & Kin Ha tour is built for Advanced Open Water (or higher) divers seeking a visually striking, different kind of experience. In one day you’ll enjoy two contrasting dives, just minutes apart and surrounded by the Mayan jungle—perfect if you want to combine depth, mystery, and natural beauty in a single itinerary.
First dive: Cenote Zapote
Cenote Zapote Diving is among the Riviera Maya’s most astonishing experiences. With a depth of about 52 meters (170 ft), this cenote is famous for the dramatic “Hell’s Bells”—massive geological formations shaped over millennia as limestone dissolved. Its funnel shape creates a vertical entry surrounded by vegetation that drops into a dim, silent world.
As we descend, outside light slowly fades, giving way to an almost mystical environment. This dive is recommended for advanced divers with excellent buoyancy control and prior deep-diving experience, as it demands technique, focus, and respect for the environment—a blend of challenge, calm, and a truly unique underwater atmosphere.
Second dive: Cenote Kin Ha
After the visual impact of Zapote, we continue to Cenote Kin Ha—renowned for crystal-clear water and beams of light piercing the natural ceiling, illuminating the inside like an underwater cathedral. With a maximum depth of 40 meters (131 ft), it’s a brighter, more relaxed dive—great for underwater photography and a perfect contrast to the darkness and silence of Cenote Zapote Diving.
“Kin Ha” means “Sun and Water” in Mayan—spot on for what you’ll experience: reflections, colors, and the sensation of floating in a space suspended between sky and earth.
A complete experience for advanced divers
The Cenote Zapote Diving & Kin Ha tour lets you explore two very different worlds—the mystical depth of the first and the ethereal light of the second. With visibility over 30 meters (98 ft) and an average temperature of 24 °C (75 °F), it’s perfect for taking your cenote diving to the next level.

First Dive – Cenote Zapote
Maximum depth: 34 meters (112 ft)
Known as “Hell’s Bells,” this cenote delivers an intense, vertical, and truly unforgettable dive. Its deep, dark shape reveals spectacular bell-shaped formations emerging from the walls, creating a mystical, out-of-the-ordinary setting. In the deepest section, salt water produces a hypnotic visual effect and an atmosphere that evokes the Mayan underworld. Floating among these formations is awe-inspiring—ideal for advanced divers seeking something intense and different in Cenote Zapote Diving.
Surface Interval & Refreshments
After the first dive, we take a break to recharge—hydration and light refreshments like water, fresh fruit, snacks, and a sandwich—while enjoying the jungle’s calm. Then we drive a few minutes to nearby Cenote Kin Ha to continue the adventure.
Second Dive – Cenote Kin Ha
Maximum depth: 30 meters (98 ft)
Kin Ha is an underground open cenote with a vertical well-style entrance that leads to a silent, crystal-clear world below the earth.
